We collect information you provide to us, including your name, email, and address information. When you choose phone carrier match, we collect the mobile number you submit for that verification (it is not permanently stored). We also collect verification documentation when you upload it (temporarily, for verification purposes only), and—if you opt in to utility portal verification—text extracted from a browser tab you choose to share for a limited time. With your explicit permission, we may scan email for account-related messages. We collect usage data to improve our services.
We implement robust security measures including encryption of all address data in our database, secure processing of verification documents, regular security audits and testing, and access controls for all sensitive data.
We use your information to provide and improve our services, verify addresses through our multi-step verification process, facilitate community connections and marketplace functionality, send service-related communications, and comply with legal obligations.
Document upload. When you upload verification documents (such as a government ID or utility bill), they are processed securely for verification only. We do not retain copies of uploaded files after processing, regardless of outcome.
Utility portal verification. When you choose this option, you consent before any capture begins. Your browser shares a tab you select—typically your utility provider's signed-in account page—for a limited period. Capture frames are processed in memory to confirm the provider and to extract billing-related text (such as name, service address, and billing date). We do not store screen recordings or capture images as files. Your utility login credentials are entered only on the provider's website and are not collected by Address Dock.
Phone carrier match. When you choose this option, you provide a mobile number and consent to receive a one-time SMS passcode and to authorize your wireless carrier to disclose account and device information (including name and billing address) to Address Dock and its service providers solely to verify your identity and address. Your phone number is used for that real-time check and is not permanently stored in our database. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for assistance.
For these methods, we maintain verification status, the consent version you accepted (for portal or phone carrier verification), and limited verification metadata—not copies of your documents, screen captures, or phone numbers.
Collection and processing. To verify physical address information, we may request your mobile phone number. With your explicit consent, that number is transmitted securely to our service provider, Twilio, to verify number possession and match carrier registration records against your self-reported name and address. Address Dock (ZIF Labs LLC) does not store, log, or maintain your phone number in any permanent database or storage layer after the verification transaction completes.
Third-party sharing restrictions. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information, text messaging opt-in data, or carrier-derived customer data will be sold, shared, rented, or leased to third parties or lead generators.
Opt-out and help. Mobile text messages are used exclusively for transactional account validation. Text HELP for assistance or STOP to revoke consent for that verification path.
When you authorize email scanning, we scan only for account-related messages and do not read or store personal email content. Only account names and associated email addresses are extracted. You can revoke access at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with businesses through our API (only with your explicit authorization), with service providers who help us operate our platform, when required by law or to protect our rights, or in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
For business verifications, only verification status is shared, not your actual documents. Businesses must obtain your authorization before verification, and you can revoke business access to your verification status.
You have the right to access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, delete your information (with certain exceptions for legal compliance), restrict or object to certain processing, and export your data in a machine-readable format.
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, analyze usage patterns, and improve our services. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law and provide appropriate recommendations.
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Our service may integrate with payment processors for marketplace transactions, mail delivery services for verification, email providers for account discovery, Google Cloud Vision for optical character recognition during verification, and AI language-model providers to extract verification fields from document or portal text. These third parties have their own privacy policies that govern their use of your information. We send only the data needed for each verification step.
You can access, update, or delete your information through your account settings, opt-out of certain data uses, revoke API access authorizations, and deactivate your account.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at support@addressdock.com.
